PASSIVATION RIG

We can, when rerquired bring our Passivation rig on site. The rig consists of a tank, pump set, heat exchanger and hot water boiler (if plant steam is not available) or we can employ the use of electrical heaters. These items were designed for specific use with passivation chemicals and temperatures.

Safety was a major consideration in the design of this rig:
A return line to the tank from the pump outlet was incorporated to control pressure and flow and allow for easy mixing of chemicals.
The tank is fully insulated, cladded and vented.
Pump sets were selected to safely handle the required chemicals, concentrations, temperatures and a wide variety of flow rates and pressures.

Quality was a major consideration when designing this rig with the purchase of quality tanks and pumps to the following specifications:

This Pump is equipped with a Hydro-Var and is capable of maintaining a constant flow to pressure ratio. It starts and stops the pump slowy thus eleminating water hammer and shock to a system.

Hot Water Boiler:

Hot water is generated by the boiler and circulated through the heat exchanger and dimple jacket on the tank and back to the boiler.

For large systems where steam is available we have also incorporated a steam pressure reducing station as designed and supplied by Spirax Sarco Ltd. on the inlet of the heat exchanger and a condensate trap on the outlet of the heat exchanger.

The Above equipment is part of our main mobile passivation rig as shown in the inserted photograph.

We can also manufacture our own D.I. water on site by Flowing mains water through vessels containing Mixed Bed D.I. resin.

This means that we can work independant of site services i.e. Steam and D.I. water and all we require is 220v and 380v power supplies and a raw water supply.

We also carry numerous other items that can slot together to make up a total of three seperate passivation rigs including:

various sized heat exchangers by Alfa-Laval
various pumps by A.P.V., Piere Guerin and Grundfos.
12 and 21 KW electric 380V heaters
1,200 liter and 200 liter S/S tanks
Various Fittings to tri-clamp ends that are used to loop out sensitive equipment etc. including Elbows, Tee's, Valves, Reducers, Threaded adaptors, Temperature and Pressure gauges, Clamps and gaskets.
