High Flow Housings

BIG BLUE HIGH FLOW RANGE : 1" TO 1/2" BSP PORTS

Big blue filter housings offer the versatility to meet large capacity filtration needs. Accepting all 4 1/2" diameter cartridges, these extra large housings allow for greater capacity, reducing both the number of vessels required for high flow rate applications and cartridge change-out frequency. Big Blue housings are compatible with a broad range of chemicals due to  the all-polypropylene construction. A 10" clear 1"port version is available with a polypropylene head and polycarbonate bowl.

BAG HOUSING RANGE: 1 TO 1 1/2" BSP PORTS

Ametek standard bag vessel assemblies keep systems on stream longer by reducing bag filter change time. The single large Acme thread closure ensures quick opening and positive sealing. All PBH series vessels come complete with change out gauge, spanner and 3/8"drain valve. The PBH series is made of lightweight corrosion resistant polypropylene, giving strenght without bulk. Bag vessel assemblies are economically priced, allowing installation of a duplex system for totally uninterrupted flow rates.

STAINLESS STEEL BAG HOUSINGS

(High flow, simple change-out)

EPO-BAG HOUSING RANGE: 1" to 2" BSP PORTS

Ametek filter bag housings are the simplest way to reduce particulate in high volume at high flow rates. The comparative housings with cartridge filtration would require far greater capital and consumable expense, although cartridge filtration gives more accurate results.

All vessels are manufactured in 316 polished stainless steel making these suitable for contaminated water and have a broad chemical compatibility, with BSP female connections.

EPO18 and -31 have adjustable legs to aid easy installation and are available with a flat-lid design to make bag change-out even simpler. All alternative standard housings have domed lids with vent port and quick-release V-band clamps. Rigid 316 internal support ensures bag integrity is maintained at high-pressure differential during operation.

BAG FILTRATION:

(Low cost for high volume, high viscosity filtration)

Bag filtration offers an effective, economic means of removing large volumes of contaminant at high flow or high viscosity. With three types of media:

bullet  polypropylene
bullet  polyester
bullet  Nylon

These give a broad range of chemical and process compatibility. The advantages bags have over cartridges are numerous and are as follows:

bullet Flow is achieved in a housing a fraction of the size, reducing capital expenditure.
bullet Consumables are of lower cost pro-rata to contaminant removed.
bullet Broad range of micron sizes 1 to 1000 micron
bullet Simple and quick change-out saving operator expense.

However many bag systems are supported downstream, with a cartridge filtration system once the bulk of contamination is removed, thus highlighting the reason bag filtration has not replaced cartridge technology altogether. Cartridges are used as a safe-guard having greater efficiency and consistency, hence both methods have their applications.

Felt media should be selected according to compatibility (polypropylene standard) from 1 to 200 micron, with washable/reusable nylon mesh from  50 to 1000 micron.
